U.S.-Japan Bilateral Young Women’s Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Development Initiative

3 Day Startup and Keio University are pleased to present the U.S.-Japan Bilateral Young Women’s Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Development Initiative in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy Tokyo. This initiative is designed to help young, aspiring women entrepreneurs in Tokyo, Japan build the skills, knowledge, and network to create value and start new ventures. 

*This program will be held virtually with the possibility of in-person elements depending on health guidelines

Program Details

With an engaging curriculum combined with experiential learning, 40 young Japanese women leaders and 10 young men will learn the essential building blocks of creating a successful business venture and how to prototype business models to solve real-world issues applying US methods and approaches.

  • Learn and apply methodologies utilized by successful startups
  • Effectively assess business opportunities
  • Deliver a compelling pitch in front of a live panel

Weekend Overview

Day 1: Participants arrive at 4:30PM on Friday, December 3rd. Teams form and facilitator leads the group through opportunity recognition, ideation methods, design thinking, and developing early concepts.

Day 2: Participants focus on business model formation. Teams conduct customer discovery, test hypotheses, apply lean methodology, and receive feedback from mentors and peers.

Day 3: An intensive pitch workshop prepares teams to delivery strong pitches/demos before a panel of entrepreneurship and business experts.

Application Details

Application open to Japanese women and men currently enrolled in university and living in or around the Tokyo area. Limited scholarships will be awarded to select students to subsidize costs associated with access to reliable internet.
